Description

Our Brindleigh medium inverted pendant carries a 415mm bowl of Tiffany-style leaded glass, mounted open side up so the light bounces off the ceiling and comes back down softened. Overall height adjusts between 670mm and 1000mm, which gives you room to set it at the right level over a table or beneath a higher ceiling. Inside the bowl sit three E27 lampholders, each rated for an LED bulb of up to 10W, and the whole ceiling light weighs 2.8kg. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can pick the colour temperature that suits the room.

At this size the Brindleigh works well over a round dining table, in a snug, or above a hallway console where a wider shade would crowd the space. Upward light is kind in rooms used in the evening, since none of it points straight at seated eye level. The multicoloured glass reads as a warm decorative accent against painted plaster, panelling or paper, and it earns its place in period homes without looking out of step in a simpler modern interior. It is an indoor pendant light, rated IP20.

Each piece of coloured glass is set within a metal seam and the panels are carried on a metal frame, which is why the fitting has real weight to it. Dust it with a dry soft cloth, then wipe any marks with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately, keeping sprays and abrasive cleaners away from the seams. The fitting is Class 1 and needs an earthed connection, and it will dim with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable bulbs.
