Description

The Brindleigh large inverted pendant takes the same Tiffany-style leaded glass upward and widens it to a 500mm bowl, so the light spreads further across the ceiling before it comes back into the room. Height adjusts between 670mm and 1000mm, giving you control over how low the shade sits. Three E27 lampholders are set inside, each taking an LED bulb of up to 10W, and the finished ceiling light weighs 3.4kg. Bulbs are not included, which leaves the brightness and warmth of the room entirely to you.

A 500mm bowl needs a little room to breathe, so this is the version to choose for a long dining table, a generous sitting room, or a hall with height to fill. Because the light travels upward first, it lifts a dark ceiling and softens the corners rather than casting hard pools on the floor. It reads as a warm, decorative pendant light in period homes and holds up equally well against plain walls and modern furniture. Like the rest of the range it is rated IP20 and belongs in dry indoor rooms.

Coloured glass is joined by soldered metal seams and carried on a metal frame, which gives the shade its solidity and its slight variation in tone as daylight moves round. Keep it dusted with a dry soft cloth, lift marks with a barely damp cloth and dry at once, and keep sprays and abrasive creams away from the leaded lines. It is Class 1, so it needs an earthed supply, and it dims with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable bulbs. A smaller Brindleigh inverted pendant and a Brindleigh floor lamp sit alongside it in the same range.
