This is a one metre length of black surface-mounted 1-phase lighting track, the rail at the heart of the Brillia track system. It mounts on the face of the ceiling rather than sitting recessed in it, so there is no cut-out to make. Its slim rectangular profile is just 34mm wide and 19.5mm deep. What you receive is the track itself: track lights are not included, and the rest of the range's 1-phase lighting track is sold separately. There is no IP rating for it, so it belongs indoors in dry rooms, well away from water.

A run of track suits a kitchen, a hallway, a living room or a shop display, anywhere you want to aim light at several points from a single run. The black finish draws a crisp, graphic line across a pale ceiling and sits quietly against a dark or concrete one, which makes it a natural choice for industrial and minimalist rooms. Because the track lights are chosen separately, you can start with two and add more as your plans grow, then reposition them along the rail when furniture or pictures move.
