Description

The Brilarne is a set of five round LED downlights in white, each with a slim plastic bezel 9cm across and a clear plastic cover over an integrated LED, so there are no bulbs to buy or change. Each light draws 4.9W and gives 520lm, and the inner ring tilts within the bezel, letting you angle the beam towards a picture, a bookcase or a favourite chair. They are rated IP20, which settles where they belong: indoors, in dry rooms, and never outdoors or in a bathroom.

Recessed into the ceiling, they sit close to the surface, which makes them a tidy choice for hallways, landings, living rooms, bedrooms and studies where a pendant would crowd the room. The colour temperature is adjustable between 2700K, 4000K and 6500K, so one set covers the whole day: a warm, cosy light for a lounge in the evening, a neutral light for a study or home office, and a crisp, cool light wherever you want clear light for reading and close work. Buying five together means a whole run of ceiling lights matches in the same white finish and can share one tone of light.

Each light needs a 6.8cm cut-out and a recess depth of 2.5cm, so they suit ceilings with only a shallow void. Two blue spring clips at the sides hold each light snugly against the ceiling. They are not dimmable and have no switch of their own, running instead from your usual wall switch on 220-240V mains, so pair them with a standard switch rather than a dimmer. A mains light like this is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a PDF download, worth having to hand before the work begins.

No. They are rated IP20, which means they belong indoors in dry rooms, so we would keep them away from bathrooms, showers and anywhere outdoors.

Which colour temperatures are there?
