Description

This Brilarne set gives you three round LED downlights in white, each recessed into the ceiling so that only a slim plastic trim shows. Each light is 9cm across, with a clear plastic lens over an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. Each one draws 4.9W and gives 520lm, a useful amount of light from such a compact fitting. The IP20 rating settles where they belong: indoors, in dry rooms, away from steam and splashing water.

These downlights suit living rooms, hallways, landings, bedrooms and studies, anywhere you want clean light from the ceiling without a pendant hanging into the room. The inner ring tilts, so you can angle the beam towards a picture, a bookcase or a favourite chair instead of lighting only the floor beneath it. The real gain is the adjustable colour temperature: the lights can be set to 2700K for a warm, relaxed glow, 4000K for a neutral light or 6500K for a crisp, cool daylight tone. That means a warmer light where you unwind and a cooler, brighter-feeling one where you read or work, all from the same set.

The bodies and lenses are plastic, and the white trim blends into a white ceiling. Each light needs a 6.8cm cut-out and a recess depth of 2.5cm, which suits ceilings with only a shallow void behind them, and each one is held by a pair of spring clips. They run on mains power at 220-240V, are switched at the wall rather than by a switch of their own, and are not dimmable, so they always give their full output. As wired-in lights, they are installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download.
