Description

The Brammoor floor lamp lifts five gloss white glass globes on a slim satin brushed gold frame, standing 1515mm tall on a base 310mm across. Its footprint is small for the amount of light it gives, which is what makes this floor light useful in a room where a table lamp has nowhere to sit. Five G9 lampholders each take a 3W LED bulb, spreading light at head height rather than concentrating it in one shade. At 6.4kg the lamp is steady on its base, and the IP20 rating keeps it to dry indoor rooms.

We would stand it beside a sofa or an armchair, in the corner of a sitting room that the ceiling light never reaches, or next to a console in a wide hallway. Because the light comes from five separate globes rather than one shade, it fills a corner instead of pooling on the floor, and the opal glass keeps each bulb comfortable to sit near. It suits open plan rooms where you want a second layer of light away from the ceiling, and it echoes the Brammoor pendants closely enough to use in the same space.

The frame, base and lamp cups are metal in satin brushed gold, with a brushed grain that keeps the finish from flashing under a bright bulb. The globes are gloss white glass and wipe clean with a barely damp cloth, dried straight away, while the metal only needs a dry soft cloth. It is a Class 2 fitting and comes with a mains lead for a standard socket, so no wiring work is involved. Across the Brammoor range the same opal globes appear on a ring pendant, a wide ten light pendant and a linear pendant.
