What does IP54 mean for outdoor use?

IP54 provides dust protection (the '5') and splash protection from any direction (the '4'). This makes the Bowery suitable for sheltered outdoor positions like under eaves, covered porches and recessed entry areas. It is not fully waterproof and should not be installed in fully exposed positions subject to driving rain or direct water jets.

What bulbs does it take?

The Bowery takes two GU10 bulbs up to 50W each, sold separately. Most users pair this with LED GU10 bulbs between 4-6W and 3000K-4000K for a balance of warm light and sufficient brightness for entrance lighting. The dual fittings mean you can choose different colour temperatures for upper and lower apertures if desired.

How is it wired and mounted?

The fitting mounts to a standard outdoor back box with two fixing screws through the rear plate. Wiring connects to a junction box behind the wall or feeds directly from a ring circuit if the fitting is replacing an existing outdoor light. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 wiring regulations.

Can it be used on a wall without overhang?
