The Bowery is a cylindrical outdoor wall light with two GU10 fittings inside a white powder-coated aluminium body, casting light both upward and downward from the same fitting. Each GU10 socket accepts bulbs up to 50W (sold separately), with the up-down configuration producing both wall-wash illumination and ground lighting from a single compact fixture.

Designed for exterior walls, porch entries, garden boundaries and patio areas, the Bowery measures 180mm tall by 64mm diameter, providing accent lighting without dominating a doorway or pathway. The IP54 rating protects the internals against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for UK all-weather installation on walls facing rain and wind. The rectangular backplate fixes to standard UK outdoor back boxes and the sealed safety glass at top and bottom prevents moisture reaching the lamp holders.

The white powder-coated finish on the aluminium body resists corrosion and UV degradation better than painted finishes, maintaining colour stability under direct sunlight. The cylindrical form sits flush to the wall with minimal projection, reducing the risk of accidental contact in narrow pathways or beside doorways. Pairing warm-white GU10 LEDs (2700K-3000K) produces ambient outdoor lighting, while daylight LEDs (4000K-5000K) give sharper definition to architectural features and boundary lines.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Bowery takes two GU10 bulbs up to 50W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations pair this with two GU10 LED bulbs between 4-7W for energy efficiency and long bulb life.

Can it be used in all weather conditions?

Yes. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for exposed exterior walls, porches and garden boundaries in UK weather. The sealed safety glass at both light apertures prevents moisture reaching the lamp holders.

What direction does the light cast?

The fixture has one GU10 socket facing upward and one facing downward, so it casts light both onto the wall above and onto the ground or patio surface below. This dual-direction output creates a wall-wash effect and ambient ground lighting from a single fitting.

How is the white finish maintained?

The powder-coated aluminium resists UV degradation and corrosion without requiring repainting. Clean with a damp microfibre cloth and mild detergent if dirt accumulates. Avoid abrasive cleaners or wire brushes that could scratch the powder coating.
