Description

The Bolla is a 3-light chandelier from Hinkley with a brushed nickel frame and three frosted bell-shaped glass shades suspended on curved arms. Each arm sweeps outward from a central column and terminates in a solid metal sphere, with the glass shade hanging beneath. The chandelier takes three E27 bulbs (sold separately) rated up to 60W each, providing combined output suitable for dining tables, entrance halls and living room ceiling positions.

The 572mm diameter sits comfortably over a 1200-1600mm dining table or in an entrance hall with a floor area of 6-10m². The drop is adjustable on installation between 580mm and 2105mm, allowing the fitting to be set at the correct height for standard 2.4m ceilings or higher spaces with vaulted or double-height ceilings. The chain and cable run is concealed within the central column and adjustable chain, and the ceiling canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses.

The brushed nickel finish is a mid-tone satin metal that sits between polished chrome and brushed stainless steel in reflectivity, giving a soft sheen that works in both traditional and contemporary interiors. The frosted glass diffuses light evenly without creating harsh shadows or glare on the table surface beneath. Each arm is counterbalanced by the solid sphere at its tip, adding visual weight to the design and stabilising the frame geometry.

The chandelier takes three E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs in the 6-10W range and 2700K-3000K colour temperature for dining areas.

What dining table size does it suit?

The 572mm diameter works over dining tables between 1200mm and 1600mm in length. For smaller tables the chandelier may appear oversized; for tables above 1800mm a larger fitting or multiple pendants may give better visual balance.

How is the drop adjusted?

The drop is adjusted during installation by shortening or lengthening the chain before fixing the ceiling canopy. The maximum drop of 2105mm allows the fitting to work in rooms with high or vaulted ceilings, while the minimum 580mm suits standard 2.4m ceiling heights with the chandelier hanging 700-800mm above a table surface.

Can the glass shades be cleaned?

Yes. The frosted glass shades can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth. For more thorough cleaning, isolate the power supply and remove the shades by unscrewing the retaining collar at the base of each shade, then wash with warm water and mild detergent before drying and refitting.
