Bola Round Table Lamp - Chrome

The Bola is a 200mm spherical table lamp made from clear acrylic strands woven into a mesh globe, set on a polished chrome circular base. A single E27 bulb inside the sphere casts light through the interlaced acrylic, which refracts and scatters the glow into multiple directions, creating a halo effect around the lamp when lit.

Designed for side tables, bedside tables, console tables and lounge surfaces where both task and decorative light are needed, the Bola provides diffused ambient light rather than directional reading light. The 260mm total height suits standard table surfaces without dominating the space, and the 200mm globe diameter gives enough visual presence to work as a standalone accent piece. The lamp is dimmable when paired with an appropriate E27 dimmable LED or halogen bulb and a compatible dimmer switch, allowing the brightness to be dialed down for evening use.

The acrylic strands are moulded into irregular loops and curves, so the texture of the sphere varies across its surface — some areas appear denser, others more open. When unlit, the clear acrylic catches daylight and reads as a translucent sculptural object rather than a traditional lamp. The polished chrome base provides a high-gloss metallic contrast to the organic texture above it, and the base diameter is wide enough to keep the lamp stable on soft surfaces like fabric runners or wooden tables without tipping. At 0.79kg the Bola is light enough to move between rooms but heavy enough not to shift easily when the cable is pulled.

What bulb does the Bola take?

The lamp takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-8W LED in 2700K warm white for ambient light, or a decorative filament LED if the globe shape allows it to be visible through the acrylic.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The acrylic globe itself does not affect dimmer compatibility — that depends entirely on the bulb and dimmer model used.

How is the acrylic cleaned?

Wipe the acrylic strands with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For fingerprints or marks, a barely-damp cloth with clean water works, but avoid soaking the acrylic or using household sprays, which can leave residue in the mesh texture.
