Description

A slim upright wall light with an open ring head, finished in matt black from base to tip. The round backplate keeps the footprint small, the stem carries the light up and away from the wall, and the ring itself throws a soft wash of warm white at 3000K. Power comes from an integrated LED drawing 5W, with the driver built in, and there is a toggle switch on the body so it can be worked by hand without a separate wall switch. It is not dimmable.

Reading light is what this shape does best. We would fit a pair either side of a bed, at a height where the ring sits just above the shoulder, so each person can switch their own without disturbing the other. It works equally well beside an armchair, in a study nook or in a narrow hallway where a projecting fitting would be caught by a sleeve. At 450mm tall it reads as a vertical line rather than a lump on the wall, which suits plainer bedrooms and rented flats where a smaller mark on the plaster matters. It is for dry rooms indoors, so a bathroom is out.

The finish is a flat black with no sheen to catch reflections, and it holds fingerprints less than a gloss would. Keep it dusted with a dry microfibre cloth run along the stem and around the inside of the ring; nothing wet, and no cream cleaners, which will dull the coating. The LED is sealed into the head and is not a lamp you change. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the same ring head in matt white if you want the fitting to disappear against pale plaster, and the wider range runs to round and square spot heads for anyone who prefers a tighter, more directed pool of light instead of the ring's softer spread.
