Description

A compact directional spot on a round wall plate, with a rounded head that swivels the light where you want it. The LED is built in and gives a warm 3000K light drawn from just 3W, narrow enough to land on a page or a picture rather than spilling across the whole wall. A toggle switch sits on the fitting itself, so it can be turned on and off by hand without a nearby wall switch, and the finish is matt black throughout, head and base alike.

This is the sort of light we suggest for a bedside, mounted at headboard height so each side of the bed can be worked independently while the other sleeps. It reads equally well flanking a mirror, over a reading chair, or in a narrow hall or landing where the plate stands only 74mm across and the head barely leaves the wall. The output is fixed rather than dimmable, so it suits places where you want a reliable pool of light instead of a mood setting. We would put a pair up in a guest room and skip the table lamps altogether.

The body is slim and upright, tall enough to reach comfortably yet quiet on a plain wall, and the matt finish keeps glare off the metalwork. It carries a three year warranty. Being an integral LED there is no lamp to fit or replace; if the head loses its crispness, switch off at the mains, wait for it to cool and take a barely damp cloth to the front, drying it straight after. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, away from bathroom splashes.
