Description

This solar powered post light brings free, wire-free lighting to a garden path, border or driveway. It stands 500mm tall in textured black aluminium and is topped with a white polycarbonate diffuser that spreads a soft warm white glow. An integrated LED gives up to 320 lumens at full output, and because it charges by day from the sun there is no running cost and no cable to bury. A built-in PIR sensor covers a 110 degree angle and reaches up to 8 metres, so the light responds as you walk towards it.

Three modes let you match the setting. Constant mode lifts the light gently at dusk, boost mode holds a low glow and brightens on movement, and security mode stays off until motion triggers 25 seconds of bright light. That makes the Blythe useful both as gentle wayfinding by a step or gate and as a deterrent near a shed or side return. A simple on/off push switch sets the non-motion and motion behaviour before you place it, and at just 1.1kg it is easy to lift and reposition as your planting changes.

The aluminium body resists corrosion and the fitting is IP44 rated, so it copes with rain and damp outdoors. The whole unit measures 500mm high by 200mm wide, a slim upright that reads neatly among low planting or beside a path edge. Stand it on firm ground where it will catch daylight for the best charge, and wipe the solar panel and diffuser now and then to keep output strong. Because the LED is built in there are no bulbs to buy or replace. A taller bollard height in the same range lets you light a longer route in one matching look.

No. It is solar powered and charges from daylight, so there is no cable to run and nothing added to your electricity bill. You simply site it where it catches the sun.
