This black recessed frame from our Beyond range holds two of the range's 10W adjustable downlight sources side by side, gathered inside one oval trim. It measures 160mm long, 81mm wide and 65mm deep, and it weighs 0.43KG. The box holds the frame and its trim only: the downlight sources are sold separately, and you will need two of them before it gives any light. Think of it as the housing that decides how the pair sits in your ceiling, while the sources provide the light itself.

A twin frame suits the places where a single downlight would feel thin and two separate openings would look busy: over a dining table, along a hallway, or above a run of bookshelves. Because both sources share one trim, the ceiling shows one tidy cut-out instead of two scattered circles. With the adjustable sources fitted, you can angle one onto a painting and the other onto a sideboard, or aim both the same way for a stronger pool of light. The black trim gives a crisp, graphic outline in a pale ceiling and all but disappears in a dark one.

The black finish carries over the trim and down the inner walls of both openings, so no pale surface catches your eye from the room. Spring clips at each end hold the frame in its ceiling opening, and the oval trim finishes the edge of the cut. The frame carries no light source of its own, so the only choice left to make is the pair of sources that complete it.
