Description

The Bevadoro is a slim clamp lamp in black, built around a gently curved arm that rises from a compact base and ends in a flat, narrow head with a light panel set into its underside. It stands 42.5cm tall, 6cm long and 2cm wide, so it takes up very little room beside the bed or on a desk. The body is plastic, and the LED gives 420lm, a focused amount of light for reading rather than for lighting a whole room. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in a dry room.

We think it is most at home on a headboard, giving each person their own reading light without a lamp crowding the bedside table. Fit one either side of a double bed and one of you can read late while the other settles down to sleep. It works just as well clamped to a desk in a home office or study, putting light on a book, paperwork or a keyboard and leaving the desk surface clear. Because it clamps rather than stands, it frees the space a table lamp would take.

The finish is what lifts it above a plain task light. The head carries a grained, leather-look texture with a stitched-look edge and a bright silver-tone trim at the tip, and a slim silver-tone band marks the join between the arm and the base. A power button sits on the front of the base, within easy reach of a hand from the pillow, so there is no fumbling in the dark.
