Description

The Bergamo is a 52cm flush ceiling light with a white metal frame supporting a cylindrical linen drum shade finished in white with black edge trim. The shade houses three E27 bulb fittings arranged evenly around the perimeter, each capable of taking up to 60W (bulbs sold separately). The 18cm height from ceiling to shade base makes this a low-profile fitting suited to rooms with 2.3-2.5m ceiling heights where a pendant would sit too low.

Designed for bedrooms, living rooms, hallways and dining areas in flats, new-builds and period properties with lower ceiling heights, the Bergamo provides general ambient lighting through the linen diffuser. The white and black colour scheme pairs with both neutral and monochrome interiors, while the drum form keeps the fitting visually compact. The flush mounting means no drop below the ceiling rose, maximising headroom in smaller or lower-ceilinged spaces.

The cylindrical shade is made from linen fabric over a PVC backing, giving the material enough structure to hold its shape while diffusing light evenly through the sides and base. The black trim running around the top and bottom edges of the shade provides definition against white ceilings and adds contrast to the overall form. The white metal frame and ceiling plate are finished in a powder coat that resists yellowing and pairs cleanly with standard white emulsion ceilings. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor use only.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does it take?

The Bergamo uses three E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this fitting with three warm-white LED bulbs between 8-12W and 2700K-3000K for general room lighting.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. At 18cm total height, the Bergamo is designed specifically for rooms with 2.3-2.5m ceilings where a pendant would hang too low. The flush mounting maximises headroom while still providing distributed light across the room.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Bergamo to dry indoor areas only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, utility rooms, kitchens over hobs, or any location where moisture or steam is present.

How is the linen shade cleaned?

Use a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner or a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust from the linen surface. Avoid damp cloths or household cleaners, as moisture can stain the fabric and damage the PVC backing.
