Description
This is the Bellcote hung rather than mounted, the lantern suspended on a chain. The Bellcote is a wide fisherman's bell that throws everything downward. It wants a soffit, a porch ceiling or the underside of a carport, something solid overhead to fix to and enough drop beneath it to clear a doorway. The Bellcote sits behind a polycarbonate lens, clear or opal, that will not shatter. The powder paint is baked on rather than sprayed, so it keeps its colour against sun and salt instead of chalking off in a season or two. The opal version is also made with the lamp built in, at 12W, rather than taking a bulb.
The shade is wide enough to put all its light on the ground, which is what you want over a step, a boat store or a working yard. It is the only fitting in the range that does that, and it suits a coastal house where the salt punishes anything thinner. The first image is the manufacturer's own scale drawing of this pendant, filled in the black finish it is supplied in, not a photograph: no photograph of this pendant is published, and we would rather draw it accurately than show you a different product. Measure the height in the specification against the ceiling you will fix it to before you buy.
It hangs from a fixing overhead, so the soffit or the joist above has to take the weight, and the supply comes down to it from inside that ceiling. Check the drop clears a doorway before you fix the plate. Wiring is work for a qualified electrician: it wants a terminal approved to EN 60998-2-1 or EN 60998-2-2 in a wiring box rated IP68, which is the manufacturer's own instruction.

Frequently Asked
What is it made of?
The body is die-cast aluminium EN47100 with a clear or opal polycarbonate diffuser, finished in baked polyester powder paint.
What is the diffuser made of?
Polycarbonate, in a clear or an opal finish depending on the version. Both are shatter-resistant.
Can it stay out all year?
Yes. It is rated IP44 and the aluminium body does not rust when the coating is chipped.
What bulb does it take?
The E27 versions take a standard E27 bulb up to 25W, not included. The LED versions have the lamp built in at 12W, 3000K, and take no bulb.
Is the main image a photograph?
No. It is the manufacturer's own scale drawing, filled in the black finish this range is supplied in.
Does it come complete?
Yes. It ships as one item under one code.
