Description
The Beacon EVCS Master Station 8 Line is a wall-mounted emergency voice communication control panel managing up to eight outstation connections with full duplex audio capability. The unit features a large handset for clear two-way communication, an illuminated interface panel with eight individually labelled call points, and compliance with BS5839-9:2021 and BS8300 standards for emergency voice communication systems and accessible building design.
Designed for installation in controlled access areas such as security offices, reception desks, building management stations and care facility control rooms, the master station coordinates assist calls and emergency communications from Type A and Type B outstations positioned throughout the building. The system supports simultaneous call monitoring across all eight lines, with visual indication of active calls and the ability to prioritise emergency calls over general assist requests.
The panel measures 400mm wide by 350mm high with a 150mm depth, weighing 4.2kg net before cables and mounting hardware. The graphite grey faceplate features high-contrast white call point labels numbered 1-8, accessibility symbols showing wheelchair and hearing loop compatibility, and CE/UKCA certification markings. Backup battery support requires the BAT7 battery pack (sold separately) to maintain system operation during mains power failure, ensuring emergency communication remains available when building power is lost.
The full duplex handset allows natural conversation without push-to-talk operation, improving response times during emergency situations. The system interface integrates with existing building management systems and can be configured to trigger alerts to external monitoring services. Installation requires connection to a 230V AC mains supply, outstation cabling running to each call point location, and optional backup battery wiring for uninterrupted operation.

Frequently Asked
What is full duplex audio and why does it matter?
Full duplex audio allows both parties to speak and listen simultaneously, like a normal phone conversation, without needing to press a button to talk. This speeds up emergency response times and reduces confusion during high-stress situations compared to push-to-talk systems.
Is the backup battery included?
No. The BAT7 backup battery pack is sold separately and must be purchased if uninterrupted operation during mains power failure is required. The battery connects internally and maintains system operation when building power is lost.
What types of outstations can connect to this master station?
The system integrates with Beacon Type A and Type B emergency outstations and assist call points. Up to eight outstations can be connected across the eight numbered lines shown on the faceplate.
Where should the master station be installed?
Install in a controlled access area with constant staff presence, such as a security office, reception desk, building management room or care facility control station. The location should allow immediate response to incoming calls and have reliable mains power access.
