Description

A single pendant hung from a polished chrome suspension, carrying a drum shade in dual faux silk: antique gold on the outer face, ruby within, so the light takes on a warm blush as it drops onto a table. The shade measures 30cm across, wide enough to read as a proper feature over a dining table yet still neat above a bedside. The drop is adjustable, from a short hang for an ordinary room height out to 3.3m where the ceiling is high or a stairwell needs reaching down into.

It suits a dining table, a kitchen island, a hallway or a pair either side of a bed, and the gold and ruby shade sits happily with warm woods, deep paint colours and brass or chrome ironmongery already in the room. The lamp holder takes an E27, with a GLS A60 LED the sensible choice at up to 20W, and we would pick a warm white one to work with the ruby lining. It will dim with a compatible LED lamp and a matching dimmer, both bought separately.

The metalwork is polished chrome, bright and easy to keep, while the shade is faux silk over a drum shape. Dust the shade now and then with a soft brush or the upholstery head of a vacuum on low, and give the chrome an occasional wipe with a dry cloth; avoid sprays and damp on the fabric. Being rated for dry rooms only, keep it away from bathrooms and anywhere it would meet steam or splashes. It carries a one year warranty. The wider Baymont range runs beyond this piece: we also stock semi flush fittings in polished chrome, antique brass, satin nickel and satin black, plus linear and multi-light bars for longer tables, so a whole floor can be kept consistent.
