Description

Five E27 lamps sit in a polished chrome frame under a wide, shallow drum shade finished in silver foil, lined in white laminate so the light stays clean rather than tinted. A frosted acrylic diffuser closes the underside, giving an even wash across the base instead of separate bright points. The proportions are broad and low, which reads as generous without feeling heavy overhead. Each lamp takes up to 20W.

The drop adjusts from a short hang down to a little over three metres, so it works over a long dining table, in a hall with height above the door, or in a stairwell where the light needs to reach down a floor. The full set of lamps gives plenty of output for a large living room too. It dims, given dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer on the circuit. We would reach for warm white LED GLS lamps here, and it is one we suggest where a single pendant would look mean over a wide table.

The frame is metal in a polished chrome finish, the shade a laminate with a silver foil face, and the diffuser acrylic. Keep the chrome bright with a soft cloth, barely damp, then dry it off; the acrylic prefers the same treatment and no scouring, and both are best left until the lamps are cold and the switch is off. It carries a one year warranty. The wider Baymont range runs to flush and semi-flush fittings and to linear pendants, in satin nickel, antique brass and satin black as well as this polished chrome, so a landing or hall can follow the same line. Lamps are not included.
