Description

A slim polished chrome bar holds three drops in a straight line, each one finished with a small drum shade in taupe faux silk lined in halo gold. The chrome is bright rather than brushed, so it catches daylight and the warmth of the lamps behind the fabric. The shades are narrow and neatly tailored, which keeps the fitting light on the eye.

We reach for a linear pendant like this over a kitchen island or a long dining table, where a single central shade would leave the ends of the surface dim. It works well in a narrow room too, following the line of a worktop or a console. Each holder takes an E27, and we would use LED golf balls, small enough to sit tidily inside the shades and kind enough for evening meals. The drop can be shortened or let out over a generous range, so it hangs low over a table or higher in a room with tall ceilings. Dimming is possible where you pair suitable lamps with a compatible dimmer.

The frame and holders are metal in a polished chrome finish, and the shades are faux silk, with the gold lining sitting where it will bounce light down onto the table. Dust the fabric with a soft brush now and then, working around the shade rather than across it, and keep the chrome clear of marks with a dry cloth used gently. It carries a one year warranty. Lamps are bought separately. Three E27 lamps, up to 20W each. LED golf ball lamps are the ones we would choose, as they sit well within the shade size. Lamps are not included.

Can I put it on a dimmer?

Yes, provided you use dimmable lamps and a dimmer matched to them. No dimmer is supplied with the fitting.

How should I clean the gold lining?

A soft dry brush or a light pass with a lint-free cloth is enough. Avoid damp cloths and sprays, as the metallic lining marks easily.
