Description

Three E27 lamps sit behind one deep drum of faux silk, 40cm across, hung from a satin nickel suspension. The shade is a black and white laminate: the outer face reads dark and graphic, while the lining bounces light back down soft and even. The proportions are generous without feeling heavy. The drop is adjustable, so it can hang close for an ordinary ceiling or fall much lower over a table, and fabric keeps it visually quieter than a glass or metal pendant of the same width.

We reach for this where a room wants a single generous piece of lighting rather than several small ones: over a dining table, above a kitchen island, or centred in a wide hallway. The lamp count gives real usable light for eating and reading, and it will dim if you pair suitable lamps with a dimmer, so the level can come down for the evening. If you are replacing a small pendant, the wider shade will read as a deliberate change rather than a like for like swap. It suits indoor rooms that stay dry, away from steam and splashes.

The frame is finished in satin nickel, a soft brushed sheen that sits happily with brass or chrome elsewhere in the room without competing with it. The faux silk is stretched over the drum and asks for little attention; a flick of a dry duster or a soft brush now and again is plenty, and we would keep sprays and damp cloths well away from the fabric. It carries a one year warranty. Elsewhere in the range there are flush fittings in white and in polished chrome, several of them with acrylic diffusers, should a lower ceiling rule out a hanging light. Lamps are not included.
