Description

The Basis Rot is a 38.2cm linear track light with an integrated 12W 3000K LED module housed in a black aluminium body with matte polycarbonate diffuser. The fitting mounts to Maytoni's single-phase Unity track system and rotates vertically on its track adapter, allowing the light to be directed up, down or at an angle to illuminate walls, displays or architectural features.

Designed for retail spaces, galleries, offices and residential rooms where flexible directional lighting is needed without ceiling modification, the Basis Rot pairs ambient wash with targeted accent depending on its angle. The 3000K warm white LED sits behind a matte polycarbonate diffuser that spreads the light across the 38.2cm length of the fitting, creating a linear bar of illumination rather than a single point source. This makes it suitable for illuminating longer surfaces — countertops, shelving runs, wall art — where a single spotlight would leave gaps.

The black aluminium housing is 4.6cm tall and 3.3cm wide, giving the fitting a low-profile bar shape that sits close to the track. The vertical swivel function means the light can be angled towards a feature when first installed and then adjusted later without removing the fitting from the track. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments. The 12W LED runs on standard 220-240V AC mains via the track system and does not require external drivers once the track itself is powered.

What track system does it fit?

The Basis Rot is designed for Maytoni's Unity single-phase track system. It will not fit three-circuit or other manufacturers' track without an adapter.

Can it be angled in any direction?

The fitting rotates vertically on its track adapter, allowing it to be angled up, down or straight ahead along the track axis. It does not rotate horizontally or tilt side-to-side.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means it is suitable only for dry indoor environments. It cannot be used in bathrooms, wet rooms or other moisture-prone areas.
