Description

The Basis is an 11.6cm LED linear track light designed for Maytoni's Radity magnetic track system, delivering 6W of 4000K neutral white light from an integrated LED housed in a black aluminium body. The magnetic mount clips directly onto the 48V DC Radity track without visible fixings, allowing the light to be repositioned along the track length without tools.

Designed for offices, galleries, retail displays and home workspaces, the Basis provides accent or task lighting where adjustable positioning is needed. The 4000K colour temperature produces neutral white light that renders colours accurately without the warm bias of 3000K or the clinical tone of 5000K, making it suitable for reading, detailed work, and illuminating artwork or product displays. The wide beam angle provides broad coverage from the 11.6cm module rather than a tightly focused spot.

The aluminium construction keeps the module at 2.8cm height and 2.6cm width, giving a minimal profile that doesn't dominate the ceiling line when fitted to a track. The black finish pairs with both dark ceiling tracks and lighter backgrounds, maintaining a contemporary appearance without introducing metallic warmth. The IP20 rating limits the Basis to dry interior spaces — bathrooms, kitchens and outdoor areas require higher IP-rated fittings.

The Radity track system operates on 48V DC rather than mains voltage, meaning installation requires a separate driver unit (sold separately) to convert 230V AC to the required 48V DC supply. Once the track is powered, individual Basis modules can be added, removed or repositioned by hand without needing an electrician for each adjustment.

No. The Basis is designed specifically for Maytoni's Radity magnetic track system and operates on 48V DC power. It will not fit or function on traditional 3-circuit track systems that use mains voltage.

Is the LED replaceable?

The LED is integrated into the module and is not user-replaceable. The 5-year warranty covers the LED and driver electronics as a single unit.

What is 4000K colour temperature?

4000K is neutral white — a middle ground between warm white (2700-3000K) and cool white (5000K+). It renders colours accurately without the yellow tone of warm white or the blue tone of daylight white, making it suitable for workspaces and areas where colour rendering matters.

Can the light be dimmed?

Dimming capability depends on the Radity track system's driver unit. If the driver supports dimming, the Basis module can be dimmed. Check the driver specification before installation if dimming is required.
