Description

The Basic Form is a 15cm frosted white glass globe pendant suspended from a polished gold metal stem and canopy. The frosted globe houses a single E14 bulb (sold separately) and diffuses the light evenly in all directions, making the fitting itself the primary light source rather than casting a directed beam. The polished gold finish on the stem and ceiling rose contrasts with the matte-white diffusion of the glass.

Designed for kitchens, dining tables, bedroom bedside positions and hallways, the compact 15cm globe works where a full-size pendant would overwhelm the space. The drop is adjustable between 35cm and 180cm on installation, allowing the pendant to be positioned 60-75cm above a worktop in a galley kitchen or 70-80cm above a small dining table. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor areas only.

The frosted glass globe is a single blown piece with no visible seam, giving a clean spherical profile when viewed from any angle. The polished gold stem threads through the top of the globe and secures to the E14 lampholder inside, with the cable concealed within the stem and canopy. The 40W maximum rating accommodates standard E14 LED bulbs in the 4-6W range for everyday use, or a decorative filament bulb where the globe acts as a secondary diffuser.

The pendant takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W warm-white LED globe or candle bulb, or a decorative filament bulb where the frosted glass acts as a secondary diffuser.

Is the drop adjustable?

Yes. The cable can be shortened on installation to set the pendant between 35cm and 180cm drop from the ceiling. The adjustment is made once during fitting and is not user-adjustable after installation without re-wiring.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor areas only. It cannot be installed in bathrooms, wet rooms, or outdoor covered areas where moisture is present.

Does the gold finish tarnish?

The polished gold finish is a plated or powder-coated metal rather than solid brass. It should not tarnish under normal indoor conditions, but avoid cleaning with abrasive or acidic products that could damage the plating.
