The Basic Form is a 15cm globe pendant light with a dual-layer glass shade — a clear outer sphere encasing a frosted inner globe — suspended on a gold-finished metal stem and ceiling rose. A single G9 bulb (sold separately, max 20W) sits inside the frosted inner globe, casting soft diffused light through the frosted layer while the clear outer globe adds depth and a secondary reflection plane.

Designed for kitchens, hallways, entrance areas and compact dining spaces where a single overhead fitting provides both task and ambient light, the Basic Form works in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. The drop is adjustable between 54cm and 334cm on installation, allowing the pendant to be set at worktop height over a kitchen island (typically 60-75cm above the surface) or higher in a hallway. The 15cm globe diameter keeps the fitting compact enough for narrower corridors and smaller room volumes without appearing undersized.

The gold finish on the metal frame and canopy provides warm metallic accent tones that pair well with brass fixtures, warm-toned timber joinery, and both contemporary and mid-century interiors. What bulb does it take?

The Basic Form uses a G9 capsule bulb with a maximum 20W rating. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a G9 LED between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for warm white light suitable for residential interiors.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb you choose. G9 LED bulbs marked as 'dimmable' will work with most trailing-edge dimmers, but check the bulb packaging for specific dimmer compatibility before pairing.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. For bathrooms, choose a pendant rated IP44 or higher.

How is the drop adjusted?

The suspension cable is adjusted during installation by threading the cable through the ceiling rose and locking it at the desired height. The drop can be set anywhere between 54cm and 334cm to suit your ceiling height and intended use.
