Basic Form Frosted Ball Wall Light - Gold

The Basic Form is a 15cm frosted glass sphere wall light mounted on a gold metal base. The fitting takes a single E14 bulb up to 40W (sold separately), with the frosted glass globe diffusing the light source into soft, even ambient illumination across the surrounding wall and ceiling.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms and living room accent positions, the compact 15cm diameter suits walls where a larger fitting would dominate. The 18cm projection from the wall keeps the sphere clear of door frames and corridor traffic while still providing sufficient spread. The gold base provides a warm metallic accent that pairs with brass hardware, warm wood tones and traditional or contemporary interiors.

The metal base is finished in a polished gold that catches and reflects ambient light, while the frosted glass ensures the bulb itself is never visible when looking directly at the fitting. The construction is rated IP20, limiting use to dry indoor spaces away from direct water exposure. At 15cm width and height the fitting occupies a small footprint on the wall, making it suitable for tighter spaces like cloakrooms and narrow hallways.

Product Manual

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 4-6W and 2700K for soft ambient light.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

How far does it project from the wall?

The total projection from wall to the furthest point of the glass sphere is 18cm. This keeps the fitting clear of door frames and corridor traffic while still providing enough spread for ambient lighting.

Is the gold finish polished or brushed?

The metal base has a polished gold finish that reflects light. If you prefer a softer finish, Maytoni produces other variants in the Basic Form range with brushed or satin finishes.
