Description
The Basic Form is a 5-light cluster pendant combining five white opal glass globes suspended on individual gold-finished metal stems from a 58cm circular ceiling plate. Each globe houses a single E14 bulb (sold separately), and the frosted opal glass diffuses the light to reduce glare and soften shadows across the room. The stems are arranged at staggered heights, creating a clustered formation rather than a uniform line.
Designed for dining rooms, kitchen islands and open-plan living areas with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above, the Basic Form provides both ambient and decorative lighting across a dining table or central seating area. The drop is adjustable between 52.5cm and 222.5cm during installation, allowing the pendant to be shortened for lower ceilings or lengthened to fill double-height spaces. The 58cm canopy width suits tables between 1.4m and 2m long, and the clustered arrangement fills the visual space above an island or dining surface without requiring multiple separate fittings.
The gold finish on the metal stems and ceiling plate is a warm mid-tone that pairs with brass hardware, warm oak, walnut and mid-century furniture styles. The opal glass globes vary slightly in size across the cluster, with diameters ranging from approximately 15cm to 20cm, giving visual interest to the group. The IP20 rating limits this pendant to indoor dry locations — it is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor covered areas. The combined weight of the five glass globes and metal framework is substantial, so ceiling fixings must be checked for load-bearing capacity before installation.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Basic Form takes five E14 small Edison screw bulbs, each rated up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to match the gold finish and create ambient rather than task lighting.
What ceiling height is needed?
The pendant is adjustable between 52.5cm and 222.5cm drop. For a dining table the cluster typically sits 70-80cm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above. Lower ceilings can still accommodate the Basic Form if the stems are shortened to the minimum 52.5cm setting during installation.
Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?
The drop is set during installation by adjusting the cable length inside each stem. Once installed and the ceiling plate is fixed, changing the drop height requires removing the pendant and re-threading the cables, so it's best to set the final height during the initial fitting.
Is it suitable for bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means this pendant is only suitable for indoor dry locations. It cannot be used in bathrooms, wet rooms, covered outdoor areas or any environment where moisture or direct water contact is possible.
