Description

The Basic Form is a 15cm frosted white glass globe pendant light suspended from a matt black metal canopy on an adjustable cable. A single E14 bulb inside the globe (sold separately) diffuses through the frosted glass to provide soft ambient light without glare. The metal canopy, cable sleeve and upper rod are all finished in matt black, creating a defined contrast against the white globe.

Designed for kitchens, dining areas, hallways and bedrooms where downward or omni-directional ambient light is needed, the Basic Form works as a single pendant over a breakfast bar or side table, or in groups of two or three over dining tables and kitchen islands. The adjustable drop ranges from 35cm minimum to 212.5cm maximum, allowing the pendant to be set at the correct height for the ceiling and the surface below. For dining tables the typical install height is 70-80cm above the table surface; for kitchen islands 75-90cm above the worktop.

The frosted glass globe is smooth, unadorned and spherical, giving a mid-century or minimalist character that pairs well with Scandinavian, industrial and contemporary interiors. The matt black finish on the metal components absorbs light rather than reflecting it, keeping visual focus on the glowing globe. The E14 (small Edison screw) bulb base accepts most standard LED, halogen and filament bulbs up to 40W, giving flexibility to choose the colour temperature and brightness that suits the room. The IP20 rating confirms the pendant is for dry indoor use only.

What bulb does the Basic Form take?

The pendant takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb up to 40W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb in the 4-6W range and 2700K-3000K colour temperature for soft ambient lighting.

Is the drop adjustable?

Yes. The cable allows the pendant to be set anywhere between 35cm minimum and 212.5cm maximum drop. The height is fixed during installation by cutting the cable to the required length and securing it inside the ceiling canopy.

Can multiple pendants be installed together?

Yes. The Basic Form is commonly installed in groups of two or three over dining tables and kitchen islands. When installing multiple pendants, space them evenly and ensure each has its own ceiling rose or use a multi-outlet ceiling plate if available.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the pendant is for dry indoor use only and is not protected against moisture. It should not be installed in bathrooms, shower rooms or other wet or humid environments.
