Description

The Basfor is a 30cm flush-mount crystal ceiling light with three E14 bulb sockets set within a gold-plated metal frame. The frame holds rows of faceted crystal droplets arranged in concentric rings around a central bowl, with a single large crystal sphere suspended beneath the fitting as a drop detail. Each crystal is diamond-cut to refract light outward and downward when the bulbs are lit.

Designed for rooms with low ceilings where a pendant would hang too low, the Basfor sits 18cm proud of the ceiling surface when installed, making it suitable for 2.3-2.5m ceiling heights in dining rooms, bedrooms, entrance halls and landings. The three E14 bulbs (sold separately) provide ambient light across a 12-16m² area depending on bulb brightness and ceiling colour. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations only.

The gold plating on the metal frame is applied by electroplating, giving a warm metallic tone that pairs with brass door furniture, warm timber finishes and warm-toned wall colours. The crystals themselves are cut glass rather than acrylic, so they maintain clarity under heat and do not discolour over time. The 30cm diameter makes the Basfor a medium-scale fitting that reads as decorative without dominating smaller rooms, and the 20.5cm fixed drop from ceiling to base means no height adjustment is needed during installation.

The fitting takes three E14 bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs around 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for ambient room lighting.

Can this be fitted to a low ceiling?

Yes. The Basfor is a flush-mount fitting designed specifically for low ceilings. It sits 18cm below the ceiling surface when installed, making it suitable for ceiling heights from 2.3m upward where a pendant would hang too low.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs used. Choose dimmable LED E14 bulbs and pair with a trailing-edge LED-compatible dimmer switch for best results. The fitting itself does not restrict dimming.

How are the crystals cleaned?

Switch off at the mains before cleaning. Wipe each crystal gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For more thorough cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works on glass crystals, but avoid soaking the metal frame or electrical components.
