Barroque Fabric Dining Chair - Beige

The Barroque is a high-backed dining chair upholstered in a multi-fibre fabric blend (31% polyester, 29% cotton, 22% silk, 6% wool, 12% other fibres) in a neutral beige tone, set on four polished stainless steel cabriole legs. The chair stands 103cm tall with a rolled backrest that curves at the top, providing lumbar support and head clearance for seated diners. The seat measures 48cm wide and 67cm deep, placing it towards the larger end of standard dining chair dimensions.

Designed for formal dining rooms, the Barroque suits traditional and transitional interiors where seating acts as a visual anchor to the table setting. The cabriole leg profile — curved outward at the knee and tapering to a foot — references 18th-century French furniture forms, while the polished stainless steel construction brings a contemporary metallic finish to that classical silhouette. The beige upholstery allows the chair to pair with both warm-toned timber tables and cooler glass or stone surfaces.

The fabric blend gives the upholstery a layered texture — the silk content adds a subtle sheen, the cotton and wool provide structure and breathability, and the polyester adds durability to high-wear areas. At 8.6kg per chair, the Barroque has enough weight to feel stable when pulled out from a table but remains manageable to move when rearranging seating. The polished stainless steel legs resist tarnishing and clean with a damp microfibre cloth; the fabric upholstery requires dry cleaning to preserve the fibre blend.

Sold individually, the Barroque is typically used in sets of four, six or eight around a dining table. The 48cm seat width allows comfortable shoulder clearance when chairs are placed side-by-side, and the 67cm depth accommodates larger diners without the seat edge pressing into the back of the knees.

Assembly Instruction

Does the Barroque require assembly?

The chair ships with the legs detached. Assembly involves attaching the four cabriole legs to the underside of the seat using the supplied fixings. See the Downloads tab for the full assembly instruction PDF.

How is the upholstery cleaned?

The multi-fibre fabric blend requires dry cleaning only. Do not use water-based upholstery cleaners, steam cleaners or machine washing — these will damage the silk and wool content and may cause shrinkage or discolouration.

What table height does it suit?

Standard dining tables sit at 74-76cm height. The Barroque's 103cm total height and seat proportions are designed for this range. If pairing with a counter-height or bar-height table, the chair will sit too low.

Can the fabric be treated with stain protection?

Aftermarket fabric protection sprays are not recommended for this multi-fibre blend — the silk content can react poorly to chemical treatments. If stain resistance is a priority, consider using removable seat covers or selecting a different upholstery material.
