Description

The Barras is a 406mm outdoor wall lantern built around a cylindrical cage of clear ribbed glass held within a matt black metal frame. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the glass cylinder, which is open at top and bottom but shielded by black metal caps that control light spill and protect the bulb from direct weather exposure. The ribbed glass diffuses the light while maintaining visibility of the bulb filament, making it compatible with decorative LED filament bulbs.

Designed for front porches, rear patios, side entrances and garage walls, the Barras mounts on a rectangular back plate 179mm wide by 203mm deep. The IP44 rating protects against solid objects above 1mm and water splashes from any direction, making the fitting suitable for positions under eaves, overhangs or covered porches. The 40W maximum load supports standard LED or halogen E27 bulbs, with most users choosing 4-8W warm-white LED filament bulbs for porch lighting.

The ribbed glass uses vertical fluting rather than smooth panels, which breaks up direct glare from the bulb while still showing the filament structure. The black metal frame has a low-sheen powder-coated finish that resists corrosion and UV degradation better than painted finishes. The lantern weighs approximately 1.8kg and requires two fixing points into a solid external wall or timber post.
