Description
The Barranco is a set of three round recessed downlights in a satin nickel finish, each with a plastic body and a softly brushed trim. Every downlight measures 8.4cm across and takes a GU10 lamp, a common cap type, so a replacement is easy to find. The inner ring tilts, letting you angle each beam towards a worktop, a picture or a doorway rather than pointing straight at the floor. With an IP44 rating the downlights are protected from splashing water, which settles the question for kitchens and bathrooms as well as dry rooms.
Because they sit close to the ceiling with only a slim trim showing, a set of three suits a kitchen run, a hallway, a landing or a bathroom where a pendant would crowd the space. For a bathroom, a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone. Each of the three lights is rated at 4.5W and gives 345lm, and as there is no switch on the fitting they work from your existing wall switch. The satin nickel sits comfortably alongside chrome taps, brushed steel appliances and white ceilings, and it is a gentler choice than bright chrome if you prefer a softer metallic look.
They run on mains power at 220-240V, 50/60Hz, with an energy class of F. Before you buy, check the ceiling: each downlight needs a hole 6.8cm across and 8.5cm of depth in the void above it. A wired-in light like this is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. The whole set weighs 0.445KG packed. Plastic is light and does not rust, and a wipe with a soft, dry cloth keeps the satin nickel looking its best.
