Description

A small wall light on a polished chrome arm, with a black faux silk shade lined in white laminate so the light thrown out of it stays clean rather than muddy. The shade is 12cm wide, which keeps the fitting neat and unfussy at eye level. A rocker switch is built in, so the light is turned on and off at the fitting rather than at the door. It takes an E14 candle lamp, and an LED candle is what we would put in it.

This is the light we suggest for a bedside where the table has no space for a lamp, and for narrow spots such as a hallway, a small landing or the wall beside a mirror. The switch on the fitting means you can read in bed and reach across to turn out. It will dim if you fit a dimmable lamp and a dimmer, so it can drop low and warm late in the evening. Used as a pair either side of a bed it gives soft pools of light without crowding the room.

The metalwork is polished chrome, bright and reflective, and it sits well with chrome handles, taps and switch plates already in a room. The shade is faux silk over a laminate lining, so it holds its shape and its colour. To clean, switch it off, then take dust off the chrome with a soft dry cloth and lift it from the fabric with a soft brush; nothing wet on the shade. It carries a one year warranty. We keep it in the black and chrome pairing shown, and it reads happily in a plain modern room or a slightly older one. Lamps are not included.
