Description

A five arm pendant carrying one wide shade of dual faux silk, midnight black on the outer face with champagne gold, and 60cm across. The arms sit beneath the shade, so light spreads across its full width rather than pinching into one bright point. The drop can be set short or long at the time of fitting, which means it will sit close under a lower ceiling or hang properly over a table. Each arm takes a candle lamp on an E14 socket, and the fitting dims if you pair dimmable lamps with a compatible dimmer.

We would hang this over a dining table first, where the width of the shade covers the length of a setting and the light lands evenly on plates and faces. It also suits a hall with some height to give, or a sitting room where several small pendants would look fussy. Because the dark fabric holds the light rather than scattering it, the effect is bright but contained, and turned down it goes soft and low. It needs an earthed supply, so it belongs with modern household wiring.

The shade is faux silk in two tones, the black reading almost matt from below while the gold picks up the lamplight from within. Keep the fabric in good order by brushing it lightly now and then, following the weave rather than across it, and let the lamps cool before you go near them; a dry cloth does for the rest. Keep it to dry, heated rooms, as it is not made for a bathroom zone or an open porch. It carries a one year warranty. We stock it as one of the larger multi arm pendants on our shelves, and it earns its place in a room with a bit of ceiling to spare.
