Description

Five arms reach out from a polished chrome centre, each holding a small candle lamp inside a single wide organza drum in grey. The fabric is sheer, so light spreads through the shade rather than being held in, and the chrome frame stays visible as a soft shimmer behind it. At 60cm across it is a broad, low shape that reads as light rather than heavy. The drop is adjustable, which lets it sit up beneath a modest ceiling or come down properly low over a table.

We would hang this over a dining table first, where the width of the shade matches a six seater and the arms spread light across the whole surface rather than pooling it in one spot. Because the light comes from several points inside one shade, it fills a room evenly and can carry a space on its own without much help from side lamps. It also works in a sitting room with the shade set higher, or in a generous hallway where a narrow pendant would look mean. Fitted with dimmable candle lamps and a compatible dimmer, it moves from bright company to something quieter after dinner.

The frame and centre boss are finished in polished chrome, bright and reflective, with the grey organza softening all that shine.
