Description

Five slim arms curve out from a central stem, each one tipped with an E14 candle lampholder, and the whole cluster sits inside a wide organza shade in black. The metalwork is satin nickel, soft and slightly warm against the dark fabric, and the shade measures 60cm across, so the light spreads sideways as much as down. Organza is sheer, so the arms and lampholders read faintly through it when the lamps are lit.

This is one we reach for over a long dining table or a round one in a bay, where a single narrow pendant would look mean. The drop adjusts, so it can hang low over a table or be shortened for a landing or a hallway with the height to carry it. We would fit LED candle lamps, and if you want the light on a dimmer, choose dimmable lamps to suit your switch. It suits rooms where the ceiling is already fairly plain and one broad shape is enough.

The frame is metal throughout, with the fabric stretched over a shallow drum, and the black shade with satin nickel arms keeps the dark fabric and the pale metal clearly separate. For cleaning, keep to a dry brush or the soft nozzle of a vacuum on the organza, since sheer fabric marks easily and does not take a damp cloth. It is made for dry rooms indoors, away from bathrooms and anywhere steam collects. It carries a one year warranty. Within the range we also stock three light versions, both bare-armed and with faux silk shades, in finishes including antique brass, polished chrome and champagne gold. Lamps are not included.

No. It is rated IP20 and should be kept to dry indoor rooms such as dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways.
