Description

A sheer organza drum in soft bronze sits above three arms finished in champagne gold, so the light passes through the fabric and softens on its way into the room. The shade is 45cm across, wide enough to hold its own without taking over the ceiling. Each arm carries a slim candle lamp on an E14 socket, and the drop is adjustable, so the pendant can sit high on a landing or hang lower above a dining table.

We reach for this one where a glass pendant would feel too cold: dining rooms, sitting rooms, a wide hallway, or a bedroom where fabric takes the edge off the light. Candle lamps behind organza spread a soft, warm wash rather than a beam, which makes it a good main light in a room that also has a lamp or two for reading. Fit dimmable lamps and it will work with a compatible wall dimmer. We would use LED candles here, up to 20W each. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, well away from steam and splashes.

The metalwork is finished in champagne gold, a warm and slightly muted tone that sits comfortably against the soft bronze of the shade. Organza is fine stuff and wants a gentle hand: a soft brush, or a vacuum on its lowest setting held just off the weave, lifts dust without pulling at the threads, while the metal needs nothing more than a dry duster.
