Description

Three candle lamps sit on slim stems above a single round base, all of it in matt black with a low sheen that keeps reflections down. The base measures 24cm across and the lamp stands 52cm tall, so it reads as a small light with a fair bit of presence rather than a bedside token. It is supplied without shades, which means the shape and fabric of the three shades are yours to choose, and an inline switch on the flex puts control within easy reach on a table top.

Put it on a console in a hallway, on a sideboard behind a sofa, or on a wide bedside table where a single lamp looks mean. It suits anyone who already has shades in mind, or who wants to match a shade fabric to curtains and cushions. We would fit LED candle lamps in the E14 lampholders and, if you want the light to come down in the evening, pair those with a compatible dimmer; the lamp itself will take a dimmed circuit with the right lamps in place. It is a lamp for dry rooms indoors, away from bathrooms and anywhere damp.

The matt black runs consistently over base, stems and lampholders, so the frame stays quiet under pale shades and disappears under dark ones. To clean it, switch off and unplug first, then take a dry cloth along the stems and around the base where dust gathers; skip sprays and polishes, as they dull a matt surface faster than anything. It carries a one year warranty. We like it best with three matching small shades in one plain colour, though there is nothing to stop you running a card shade for a sharper edge. Lamps and shades are not included.
