Description

Three candle holders sit on a slim central stem, each one ready for its own small shade, with the metalwork carried through in a warm champagne gold. It measures 24cm across, so the arms stay close together and the whole thing reads as one piece rather than a cluster of separate lights. It comes without shades, which is rather the point: you choose the fabric, the shape and the depth, and the fitting simply holds them at the right height. An inline switch on the flex keeps the control at hand rather than up among the shades.

We reach for this one where a table wants height and a soft pool of light rather than a single bright source: a hall console, the end of a sideboard, a dressing table, or a matching pair either side of a bed. Because the light leaves from more than one point, it falls evenly across the surface below and works nicely as a companion to a brighter fitting overhead. We would fit small LED candle lamps in it, and if you want the level to drop away in the evening, suitable lamps and a separate dimmer will do that.

The finish is a gentle gold with a champagne cast, warmer than brass and quieter than polished chrome, which makes it easy to place alongside cream, oatmeal and deeper greens. Keep it looking right with a dry duster and nothing damp, as polishes and sprays will dull a plated surface far quicker than dust ever will. It carries a one year warranty. Shades and lamps are both chosen separately, so it is worth deciding on the shades first and letting the lamps follow.
