Description

A compact twin-arm wall light finished in satin nickel, measuring 24cm across with a shallow projection that keeps it close to the wall. Each arm rises from a shared backplate and ends in an upright E14 candle holder, ready for the shades of your choosing. A rocker switch sits on the fitting itself, so the light can be turned on and off where you stand rather than from across the room.

We reach for this one in bedrooms, where a pair either side of the bed gives each person their own switch and saves the bedside table for books and a glass of water. It also earns its place in a hallway, a small landing or an alcove beside a chimney breast, anywhere a lamp on a surface would only be knocked. Because the shades are chosen separately, you can match an existing scheme closely: small candle shades in linen or card sit neatly on holders of this size. Two lamps give a soft, even spread rather than a hard pool, and dimmable candle lamps will let you take the level right down for evening.

The satin nickel has a low, quiet sheen that reads as warm silver against pale walls and picks up on other brushed metal in a room, such as door furniture or a mirror frame. Keep it looking its best by wiping the arms and backplate with a dry microfibre cloth now and then, and avoiding cream cleaners or anything abrasive that would dull the finish. It is intended for dry rooms indoors rather than bathroom zones or covered porches. It carries a one year warranty. Candle lamps up to 20W each suit it well, and we would fit LED candles for the sake of the shades; a dimmer, if you want one, is separate. Neither lamps nor shades are included, so do allow for both when you order.
