Description

Two E14 candle lamps sit side by side on this small matt black wall fitting, and a rocker switch is built into the body so it can be worked where it sits rather than from across the room. At 24cm wide it stays tidy against the wall and holds its own in spaces where anything bigger would crowd. It comes without a shade, so the covering above each lamp is yours to choose.

A switch on the fitting itself makes this one we suggest for bedsides, where a lamp on the table gets knocked about, and for hallways and landings that have no convenient wall switch. A pair either side of a bed, a mirror or a chimney breast reads well, and the modest projection suits a narrow passage. It will dim if you fit dimmable lamps and add a dimmer, as neither is supplied. We would put in LED candles, which give a warm light and sip current.

The body is finished in an even matt black that takes fingermarks less readily than gloss, and a dry duster run over it now and then is all the upkeep it asks; turn the power off and let the lamps go cold before you touch them. It needs an earthed supply, and it belongs in dry rooms indoors rather than a bathroom, a porch or anywhere exposed to weather. It carries a one year warranty. Left bare, the lamps read as a simple graphic pair against a pale wall; with small fabric or glass shades, the same fitting turns softer and more traditional, which is why we like keeping one in stock for customers still making up their minds. Lamps are not included.
