Our Balm lounge chair frame is a low garden chair made from round extruded aluminium tube with a polyester powder coating. Its rounded arms sweep back into one continuous curved rail around the back, and four slim, splayed legs stand it on the ground. It measures 76cm wide, 73cm deep and 69cm high, with a seat height of 41cm and arms at 56cm, so it sits lower than a dining chair: a seat for leaning back with a book or a drink. This is the frame alone. Its seat and back cushions are not included and are sold separately as the Balm Garden Lounge Chair Cushion Set.

It belongs on a terrace, patio or balcony, or in a sheltered corner of the garden, on its own beside a side table or as a pair angled towards each other for conversation. We sell it in fifteen powder-coated frame colours, among them Textured White, Textured Ivory and Stone, and with six choices for the back: hand-braided rope in five colours, such as Frost Ivory Rope, Plaza Taupe Rope and Cool Brown Rope, or an open back without rope.

The rope back is 5mm marine rope, hand-braided from polyester thread over a nylon core, and the frame is made for outdoor use, resistant to weathering and sunlight. To care for it, clean it regularly with warm water, neutral soap and a non-abrasive sponge or cloth, rinse well and dry the surface to avoid water marks. Designed by Estudi Manel Molina and made to order in Barcelona, Spain, it carries the maker's guarantee: five years for domestic use and two years for commercial use against manufacturing defects, with cushions, covers and fabrics not covered. Packed, it weighs 15kg, so carrying it through to the garden is straightforward.
