Description

The Balbo is a 380mm semi-flush ceiling light with four G9 bulbs housed inside a cluster of cognac-tinted glass petals arranged around a polished nickel central canopy. Each petal is a hand-blown glass dome that overlaps the next, creating a layered organic form that sits 225mm below the ceiling when fitted. The cognac glass tint diffuses the light into a warm amber glow rather than white light, softening the output and reducing glare.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.6m where a pendant would hang too low but a flush mount would provide insufficient drop for visual presence, the Balbo works in bedrooms, living rooms, hallways and dining rooms requiring ambient rather than task lighting. The 380mm diameter suits rooms of 12-18m² without dominating the ceiling plane. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only.

The nickel frame is a polished chrome-nickel alloy that reflects ambient light without the high-contrast brightness of pure chrome. Each cognac glass petal measures approximately 120mm across and is mouth-blown, so tonal variation and subtle imperfections in the glass thickness are normal. The four G9 bulbs (sold separately) sit behind the glass and are not directly visible when the fitting is viewed from below, so the light source is concealed and the glass petals themselves become the lit object.
