The Balance is a floor lamp built around a cantilever frame: a vertical column in brown-painted steel rises from a circular weighted base, with a horizontal arm extending from the top to suspend a cylindrical drum shade off to one side. The shade itself is brown fabric on the exterior with a gold-lined interior, and the exposed metal frame elements — the horizontal arm, the canopy fixing and base trim — are finished in polished brass.
