Description

The Balance is a 1616mm floor lamp built around a slender matt black stem that supports a horizontal polished brass arm, from which a cylindrical black fabric shade hangs offset from the vertical. The shade measures approximately 455mm wide and 200mm deep, lined internally with a gold reflective surface that bounces warm light back through the fabric weave. A single E27 bulb fitting sits inside the shade, concealed from direct view.

Designed for side-of-sofa reading positions, armchair corners and bedside use in rooms with sufficient floor space, the Balance provides directed overhead light without requiring a ceiling fitting. The offset arm allows the shade to hover over a seated position while the base footprint remains behind the furniture line. The 677mm horizontal reach from the stem to the outer edge of the shade determines how far forward the light projects.

The combination of matt black metalwork and polished brass accents gives the lamp a two-tone finish that works in both warm-toned and monochrome interiors. The polished brass catches ambient light during the day and the black recedes against walls and darker furnishings. The circular base measures approximately 250mm diameter, providing stability on carpets and hard floors without needing additional weighting. The lamp accepts any standard E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately), allowing you to choose the colour temperature and brightness that suits the room.
