Description

This aluminium photo frame is a cheerful way to tell a grandad he is a hero, with SUPER GRANDAD across its lower panel in bold comic-book lettering. GRANDAD is picked out in red with a dark outline, and its A is drawn as the Avengers emblem, while SUPER sits above in pale lettering over a row of three small red stars. The frame is finished in a matt royal blue, with the metal showing as a slim silver edge. It holds a single 6 x 4in photograph in a rectangular landscape window across the upper part, and measures 17.5cm tall, 16cm wide and 1.5cm deep.

We think it suits a grandad who grew up reading comics, or one whose grandchildren have decided he is their favourite superhero. Slip in a photograph of him with the little ones, a snap from a day out or a first picture with a new grandchild, and it becomes a keepsake he will want in a room he uses every day. The bright blue and red bring a splash of colour to a study, a den, a home office or a living room, and the compact size means it never takes over. It is the kind of present grandchildren love to choose and hand over themselves, with a photo in place.

The frame is made from aluminium with a smooth matt finish across the front, and its single rectangular window takes a standard 6 x 4in print, the size most photo shops and home printers produce, so there is no trimming to do. Aluminium needs little looking after: dust it with a soft dry cloth, and if fingerprints appear, wipe them away with a barely damp cloth and dry it straight after. Choose a favourite picture of grandad and the grandchildren before you wrap it, and it is a gift he can enjoy from the moment he opens it.
