This AV:Link card reader gives you an SD and MicroSD slot on the go, with a double-ended design that plugs into both USB Type-A and USB Type-C devices. That means you can move photos and files between a laptop, tablet or phone without hunting for the right adapter. It handles data transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps over USB3.0, so larger files and full memory cards move across quickly.

Setup is plug and play, with no drivers to install. You slot in your card, connect the reader and start reading or copying straight away. The USB Type-A connector is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices, so it still works with older ports, and it runs on Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. Card support is broad too, covering SDXC, SDHC, SD, MMC, RS-MMC, Micro SDXC, Micro SD and Micro SDHC.

At 11 x 23 x 75mm and just 22g, it slips into a pocket or camera bag and stays out of the way until you need it. The brushed aluminium finish is tough and keeps things tidy, and the flash-drive style shape means there is no separate cable to lose.
