Description

The AV:Link USB 2.0 wall plate module provides a USB Type-B socket on the front face and a 15mm female Type-A tail extending from the rear, allowing USB peripherals to be connected through a wall plate without trailing cables across the room. The 50mm x 25mm white module clips into compatible modular frames (AV:Link 122.500UK single-gang and 122.505UK double-gang frames, sold separately) to create a customisable socket configuration.

Designed for offices, educational facilities, studios and AV installations where printers, scanners, cameras or other USB peripherals sit in a different location from the host computer, the module routes the USB connection cleanly through the wall cavity or surface-mounted trunking. The Type-B socket accepts standard USB printer cables and similar peripherals, while the female Type-A tail connects to a standard USB cable running back to the computer or hub.

The module supports USB 2.0 data transfer rates up to 480Mbps, suitable for most printers, scanners, external hard drives and similar devices that do not require USB 3.0 speeds. The white finish matches standard UK electrical accessories and the clip-in design allows modules to be swapped or reconfigured without rewiring the back box. At 28g the module adds minimal weight to multi-module configurations.

The module clips into AV:Link modular wall plate frames 122.500UK (single-gang) and 122.505UK (double-gang). These frames are sold separately and mount onto standard UK back boxes.

What USB speed does it support?

The module supports USB 2.0 data transfer rates up to 480Mbps. It is suitable for printers, scanners and similar peripherals but will not support USB 3.0 speeds required by some external SSDs or 4K webcams.

How long is the rear tail?

The female Type-A tail extends 15mm from the back of the module. A standard male-to-male USB Type-A cable is needed to connect from this tail back to the host computer or hub.

Can multiple modules be combined in one frame?

Yes. The double-gang frame (122.505UK) accepts two 50x25mm modules side by side, allowing a combination of USB, HDMI, audio or other AV:Link modules in a single wall plate.
