Description

These pass-through RJ45 modular plugs are designed for quick and easy termination of network cable. The 8P8C connector is the standard type used for Ethernet wiring, and works with all forms of Cat5 applications. Each plug has a transparent cover so you can see the wiring inside before you commit to the crimp.

The pass-through hole is the useful part here. You feed your conductors right through the front of the plug, which lets you check the wire sequence and make sure everything lines up correctly before crimping. Once you are happy, the crimping process trims the excess wire flush. The solid copper contacts have a sharp edge that cuts through the insulation as you crimp, so you get a clean connection without stripping each conductor by hand.

We supply these in a bag of 100 pieces, which suits anyone wiring up a run of network points or keeping a stock of spares to hand. Each plug measures 10 x 12 x 22mm and weighs 1.5g. Note that pass-through plugs need a compatible pass-through crimp tool to trim the wires flush during termination.

Frequently Asked

What does 8P8C mean?

8P8C stands for eight positions, eight contacts. It is the correct term for the connector most people call an RJ45, used for Ethernet and network cabling.

How many plugs are in a pack?

Each bag contains 100 pieces.

Do I need a special crimp tool?

Yes. Pass-through plugs let the wires pass out of the front, so you need a pass-through crimp tool that trims the excess flush during crimping. A standard crimp tool will not cut the wires.

What cable are these suitable for?

They are suitable for all forms of Cat5 applications and standard network wiring.

Why is the cover transparent?

The clear cover lets you check the wire sequence before you crimp, so you can confirm the conductors are in the right order and fully seated.

What are the contacts made from?

The contacts are solid copper with a sharp edge that cuts through the wire insulation during the crimping process.
